Solution

Excel fails to respond to right click menu

1. Reset the CommandBars in VBA immediate window

Application.CommandBars("Column").Reset

Application.CommandBars("Row").Reset

Application.CommandBars("Cell").Reset

2. Delete the .xlb menu customisation file

Remove or rename <user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\*.xlb

3. Delete the Excel Start up folders

Remove or rename <user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel
