Windows 10 recreate UEFI boot

Solution

Windows 10 boot failure after major version update.

Laptops upgraded from Windows 7 and Windows 8 or with a custom OEM recovery partition may enter a blue screen loop after a major Windows 10 version upgrade.

To resolve the issue the recovery partitions should be deleted and the UEFI boot folder recreated.

To recreate the boot files

mountvol U: /s
del /s /f /q U:\efi\*.*
bcdboot c:\windows /s U: /f UEFI
mountvol U: /d

Shutdown and Reboot
