OSX XTerm environment not set

Solution

Symptom
Environment variables, such as PATH which are set in .profile and other login scripts are not set in XTerm

Fault
The OSX X11 Terminal shortcut in the toolbar does not read the user shell startup scripts

Resolution
Use the Customize option to edit the Terminal command, adding -ls to force XTerm to start as a login shell.

By default XTerm starts in non-login shell mode.
