Solution

The Synology DNS Server is essentially Bind (named) repackaged for DSM.

The installation and configuration files can be found at

/volume1/@appstore/DNSServer

The cache can be flushed using the pre-prepared script

/volume1/@appstore/DNSServer/script/flushcache.sh
